I used to get annoyed whenever I heard the infamous phrase "Why are you so dressed up?" when showing up to an event. It could be a lunch date, shopping trip, off to the movies or even over to help a friend move...it never failed. Style to me is enternal and one should dress how they feel.
Of course everyone is not going to understand your "feelings" or share the same emotions all of the time, but so what! If it makes YOU comfortable and YOU enjoy it - that is what's important. I quickly realized that my style is MY own and I own it! (*insert hair flip here*). So whenever I hear that silly phrase now, my typical response is "Well when getting dressed, I choose to dress the way I feel and this morning I felt like (_____). <--- a winner!
So remember never apologize for your feelings or the way you are dressed! (becuase you OWN it!)
